5 Hour Pre-Licensing Courses

Our 5 Hour classes on Sundays and Wednesdays are taught online through Zoom, or you can come in person to watch the Zoom in our Spring Valley Office if you would prefer. You can reserve a seat online or by calling the office 845-425-7755.  Please make sure to send us a picture of your plastic permit at the time of registration.  You can email it to office@daviddrivingschool.com or send it via WhatsApp to 845-425-7755.   

Login information for the zoom class will be emailed a few hours before the start of each class.  If you do not get the login information by an hour prior to the class please call our office.  All students must have a device that supports both video and audio, students are expected to participate and leave their cameras on the entire time.  Please make sure to you are dressed and behave appropriately.  Any student that does not listen to the instructors directions may be removed from the class with no refund. Certificates for the course will be prepared within a day or two after the course.  An email will be sent to all students that they are ready for pickup in our office.  Students will need to come in person to sign for the certificates and pick them up.

New York State requires all permit holders to pass an in-class pre-licensing course (known as the 5 hour class) prior to scheduling a road test appointment.

Throughout the 5 hour class our instructors will review with the class the DMV regulations in the permit book in addition to discussing some new laws of the road, answering some questions and going over some key dangers that could occur while driving such as aggressive driving, cell phone use and other distractions, driving under the influence and road rage. Please make sure to bring your permit with you. Upon completion of the course you will be issued an official pre-licensing course certificate. If you would like to schedule an appointment for the road test after the class talk to your instructor.

**Please note the DMV requires all students have their plastic permit in order to take the course, the temporary paper one will only be accepted with a DMV provided ID card
